Games like mist survival11/10/2023 ![]() If shivering in a dark shack for half of a real-life hour with nothing to do is your idea of fun, this is the game for you. The Long Dark: Linear survival game that attempts to have more realistic survival mechanics.State of Decay 2 (on GamePass for PC): Rapid enemy respawns ruin what would otherwise have been a better single-player experience than the original. If that is unappealing there is a mod to work around this. Any survivor can die and be lost forever - even while you're not playing. State of Decay: YOSE: Fun zombie survival game where you control a group of survivors. There are tons of things to do, but other than some story missions you mostly have to set your own goals. Gameplay as wide as the ocean, but deep as a puddle. Fun for a while, but lacks so much polish that you'll wonder why you're not playing No Man's Sky instead. Empyrion: Galactic Survival: Very intricate base and spaceship building.Really fun until you start longing for an overall objective. Scrap Mechanic: Incredible vehicle building that takes real physics into account.Grounded (on GamePass for PC): Great start for what will eventually be a great game, but there isn't quite enough story or objectives to hold interest for long.Game ends upon death, which makes it less appealing to me - but for $2.50 it's a no-brainer. The Infected: Good survival and building, but once you've surrounded your base with spikes you've beaten the game.Collect resources, level the tech tree, defeat a boss, receive resource required to continue tech tree, repeat. Project Zomboid: Don't let the simple graphics fool you.Raft: Fun building, exploration, and game mechanics.Trying not to step on snakes can become tedious. Green Hell: Has the closest feel to the Forest, but has a more obvious story. Will be in early access forever while the devs invent new ways to force players into a certain play style. ![]() 7 Days to Die (on GamePass for PC): Minecraft for grown-ups meets tower defense meets Fallout.Subnautica: Below Zero: Doesn't quite stack up to its predecessor, but worth checking out if you loved the first one. ![]() Subnautica: One of the best in this genre. Here's my takes on some that I've played: We understand piracy as a means of testing a game but please, purchase a legit copy of the game.Īn expansion on all the rules can be found here Important Links ![]()
